Dubai Gold Rate Today: 24K, 22K in AED and INR

1 AED = ₹25.63Reference rateUpdated 7 Nov 2026, 22:58 GST

The Dubai gold rate today is the suggested retail jewellery rate published by the Dubai Jewellery Group (DJG) — and the board below is that rate, live from our stored DJG figures. Read it as the starting point of a purchase, not the final bill: a jeweller adds making charges, and VAT treatment depends on what exactly you are buying. The three numbers on this page are kept strictly separate, because mixing them up is how buyers overpay.

Number one: the DJG retail rate (the headline)

The table above is the Dubai Jewellery Group’s suggested retail jewellery price per gram, the board displayed in gold shops across Dubai and followed across the emirates. On the board checked for this page, 24K stood at AED 490.50 per gram and 22K at AED 454.25 per gram, with 21K, 18K and 14K also listed. The board had risen from the previous session — 24K was up AED 3 per gram from AED 487.50 on Friday — a reminder that the board can move more than once in a day when the international price moves. The DJG is the industry body for Dubai’s jewellery trade, operating under Dubai Economy and Tourism, and its board is a retail board: it already carries a margin over the pure metal value, which is why the board’s 22K price is a slightly higher share of its 24K price than purity alone (91.67%) would give.

For Indian buyers, the per-gram board converts to a 10-gram figure in the usual Indian way of quoting. Ten grams of 24K at the board rate is AED 4,905 (≈ ₹1,25,700), and ten grams of 22K is AED 4,542.50 (≈ ₹1,16,400) — both calculated live from the checked board, so they move when the rate on this page is updated. Our companion page, Dubai gold rate in INR, is built entirely around those rupee figures.

Number two: the spot-derived indicative rate (not a shop price)

Underneath the retail board sits the international spot price of gold, converted into dirhams at the pegged rate of 3.6725 AED per US dollar. At the time of this check, spot-derived trackers put 24K metal value at roughly AED 481 per gram — about AED 10 per gram below the DJG board. The live spot-derived figure is also shown inside the rates block above, labelled indicative. Use it to understand direction and to sense-check how far a shop’s pricing sits from metal value. Do not use it as the price you expect to pay: no Dubai jeweller sells jewellery at the spot-derived rate, and quoting it at a counter will not change your bill.

Number three: the final jeweller bill (what you actually pay)

Your bill is the board rate multiplied by the weight, plus making charges, plus VAT where it applies. Making charges are the jeweller’s labour and design charge; they vary widely by piece — plain bangles sit at the low end, intricate bridal work at the high end — and they are the one part of a Dubai gold bill that is genuinely negotiable. Always ask for the making charge to be stated per gram or as a percentage before you agree, and get the bill broken into metal value, making charges and tax.

VAT: read this carefully, because it is not one flat rule

UAE VAT on gold is not a single blanket charge, and any page that tells you “gold has no VAT” or “gold always has 5% VAT” is oversimplifying. Under the UAE VAT framework described by the Federal Tax Authority’s rules and the VAT Executive Regulation, the supply of investment precious metals — gold of at least 99% purity in a form tradable on global bullion markets, such as standard bars — can be zero-rated when the conditions in the regulation are met. Jewellery is different: retail gold jewellery is a consumer supply and carries VAT at the standard 5% rate, charged on the invoice value including making charges. In practice that means a 24K bar and a 24K necklace can leave the same shop with different VAT treatment. Ask the jeweller to show the VAT line on the invoice for your specific item, and if you are a tourist, ask about the Tourist Tax Refund scheme before you pay, not at the airport afterwards.

Is gold cheaper in Dubai than in India today?

Structurally, Dubai’s board usually works out lower than Indian retail prices for comparable purity, because India’s price builds in import duty and GST on top of the same international metal value, while Dubai’s board tracks the metal value with a retail margin and the VAT treatment described above. But “usually” is not “always, by a fixed amount”: the gap moves with the rupee, with Indian duty policy and with the making charges on the specific piece in front of you. Compare like for like on the day — same purity, same weight, making charges separated — and convert the Dubai figure with the live AED to INR rate rather than a remembered rate. And if the gold is ultimately a way of moving money home, compare it honestly against simply sending the money: our guide to sending money from the UAE to India shows what the same dirhams deliver as a transfer.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 24K and 22K gold rate in Dubai today?

The live board at the top of this page shows the current DJG suggested retail rates per gram. At this check, 24K was AED 490.50 per gram and 22K was AED 454.25 per gram.

Is this the DJG retail rate or a spot estimate?

Both are shown, labelled separately. The table is the DJG retail board; the indicative spot-derived figure appears inside the same block, clearly marked, and it is not a shop selling price.

What gets added to the gold rate when I buy?

Making charges, which vary by design and are negotiable, and VAT where it applies — retail jewellery carries 5% VAT on the invoice value, while qualifying investment-grade metal of at least 99% purity can be zero-rated under the VAT rules.

Was the rate different yesterday?

Yes. On the checked board, 24K had risen by AED 3 per gram from AED 487.50 the previous session. The board follows the international price and can change during the day.

Does the same rate apply outside Dubai?

The DJG board is followed by jewellers across the UAE, so the metal rate per gram is effectively standardised; what differs between shops and emirates is the making charge.
